  • Guide the development and evolution of Core Competency pathways for all role levels
Qualifications
Eligibility & Authority
  • Appointed based on demonstrated leadership, subject-matter expertise, and organizational influence
  • Holds a voting seat on the Academy Board
  • Accountable for active participation in Board meetings, reviews, and program decisions
  • Provides formal direction to program coordinators, trainers, and subject-matter contributors
  • Full access to Academy LMS, SharePoint resources, reporting tools, and training records

The Emeritus Board Member designation is the highest honor The Academy extends to individuals who have completed distinguished service in an active Board or leadership role. It acknowledges a legacy of meaningful contribution to employee development and organizational learning — and ensures that hard-won institutional knowledge is never lost.

Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding of new Academy Board members and program leads
  • Collaborate with partner organizations on shared training initiatives across operating companies
  • Contribute to the development of Core Competency pathways and learning roadmaps

  • Designated following distinguished service in an active Academy leadership or subject-matter expert role
  • Recognized for measurable contributions to employee development and organizational learning
  • Maintains a non-voting, advisory standing on the Academy Board
  • Retains access to Academy LMS, SharePoint resources, and training records
  • May be called upon to lead specialized workshops, panels, or pilot programs
The Emeritus Legacy

The Emeritus role ensures that institutional knowledge is preserved, passed forward, and continuously used to strengthen The Academy's ability to equip every employee with the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to perform their work safely, efficiently, and consistently.

Community Engagement

Academy Ambassador

Ambassadors are The Academy's frontline advocates — employees who believe in the mission of workforce development and actively carry that message into their teams, job sites, and professional communities. This role is not about governance; it's about enthusiasm, visibility, and grassroots connection. Ambassadors help The Academy reach people that formal structures sometimes miss.

  • Model a culture of continuous learning and safety-first development in day-to-day work

  • Open to any employee who demonstrates enthusiasm for learning, development, and team growth
  • Selected or self-nominated based on peer trust, communication skills, and commitment to The Academy's values
  • Holds no formal voting or governing authority — influence is earned through relationship and example
  • Reports observations and learner feedback to the Academy Board or PMO as needed
  • Access to Academy LMS and public-facing training resources
